Music Thursday – Letter Number “D”

One. That’s all it takes. And then you get a windfall…

A writer gets one word and out comes a chapter. A musician gets one note and out comes a song. A quarterback gets one opening and it’s a touchdown…

One…

One word, when listing songs by their titles, can make the entire letter fantastic…

That word – “Dance”

I’m scrolling through the catalog, coming off the high of Letter Number “C” and I hit “Dance”…

Next thing I know, I’m trying to figure out which song has to go because I have a full list…

Only one problem with “Dance”, it starts with “D” and so does “Delaney”…

“Dance”, you played well, but in the end it wasn’t enough as “Delaney” wins…

Best Song – Delaney Talks to Statues by Jimmy Buffett

Honorable Mention

    • Dancing in the Minefields by Andrew Peterson
    • Dancing Shoes by Green River Ordinance

Song I Wished I Owned – Don’t Stop Believing by Journey

Worst Song – Dude (Looks Like a Lady) by Aerosmith

While we know Aerosmith actually sang this song, which is more than a previous winner of this spot can say, and they’ve had major hits, it still doesn’t excuse the fact that they write a song about a guy that looks like a girl, and then made a video about it…

Up next – ‘E’ – not looking forward to it…
